Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

According to the rules of the Japanese Society for the Study of Xenobiotics, you should disclose conflicts of interest at the annual meeting if the amounts exceed the following limits. The individual disclosing the conflict of interest holds responsibility for the self-assessment and the content of the declaration.

Subjects and Criterion of Declarations

Subjects: Presenters, including co-speakers
Criterion: Declaration is required for amounts exceeding the limits stated below

  1. Income of a director, adviser or employee of a company, corporation or for-profit organization of one million yen or more per year (including graduate students working as researchers)
  2. Profit through the possession of company stocks of one million yen or more per year
  3. Patent royalties received from companies, corporations or for-profit organizations of one million yen or more
  4. Allowance (lecturer’s fees or rewards) for attending (presenting at) meetings received from a company, corporation or for-profit organization of 500,000 yen or more per organization per year
  5. Payment for writing articles for pamphlets, etc. received from a company, corporation or for-profit organization of 500,000 yen or more per organization per year
  6. Research funds received from a company, corporation or for-profit organization of two million yen or more per organization per year
  7. Research funds (for contract research, joint research, or donations) received from a company, corporation or for-profit organization of two million yen or more per organization per year
  8. Endowed lectureships sponsored by companies, corporations or for-profit organizations
  9. Other income including travel expenses (50,000 yen or more per organization per year) and gifts received from companies, corporations or profit organizations, and the acceptance of guest researchers

Declaration Methods

Oral presentation

Include the statement on the second slide of the presentation using the format of example 1E, 2E or 3E.

Poster presentation

Include the statement at the bottom-right of the poster using the format of example 1E, 2E or 3E.
